After 2 years of lockdowns and restrictions on socialising, it’s no wonder that we are seeing a world where some young people are struggling to find their voice, lacking in the confidence to put their hand up in class and generally needing additional support.

With provisions for the arts also shrinking in our mainstream schools, more and more parents and guardians are looking for quality extra-curricular activities for their children to take part in – not just as a hobby but as a chance to develop life skills and channel their creativity.

Stagecoach has been delivering children’s performing arts classes since 1988 and has seen the development of skills and confidence in thousands of children.

We teach the triple threat of disciplines; dancing, singing and acting. However, our aim is not to develop our students into the next best performers on the West End stages (although a number of them have gone on to do this). Our aim is to equip our students with Creative Courage for Life.

Children and young people deserve the best possible teaching we can give them in order to discover that learning is fun and that a passion for the performing arts can last a lifetime! This is why we are proud to be facilitating this unique Diploma in Teaching Performing Arts. Whether you have a passion for drama, singing, dance, or multiple disciplines, the Diploma in Teaching Performing Arts will help you to hone and develop your skills as a performing arts practitioner.

This 6 – 12 month, part time course (that’s right, it’s flexible enough for you to study around your job and other commitments) is accredited by RSL and recognised in 40 countries worldwide.

The Diploma covers:

  • Understanding Learning
  • Inclusive Learning: Case Study
  • Planning, Facilitating & Evaluating Learning
  • Assessment: Case Study

Our cohorts are made up of delegates with varied levels of teaching experience and career backgrounds, from mainstream teachers to performers who teach.

“I work in a mainstream primary setting. My school supported me to do the course and as a result I am now the school’s performing arts lead.” Shane – Delegate

The impact of your work as a performing arts teacher will be felt beyond the classroom and far into the future. Teachers make a difference every day. For more information about this course visit our website or contact our Education team at Learning@trafalgareducation.com.
