You have seen how this award-winning app is breaking new ground when it comes to spelling tricky words, all the way from ‘of’ to ‘onomatopoeia' but this is just the opening gambit. Next up? Maths, especially those pesky Times Tables. Grr....

Parents often say to their respective little people...‘Oh, don’t worry about Maths. I was hopeless but it didn’t stop me achieving’. This obviously annoys Maths teachers intensely.

Learning by rote

More people have dyslexia than dyscalculia but at least they can get on the field of play by writing a basic sentence like ‘The cat sat on the mat’. Yes, it’s not the most inspiring but it’s 100% correct. However, if can’t add, subtract, multiply or divide, you can’t get to ‘second base’. For this reason, children who find Maths an issue are far more frustrated than their literacy counterparts.  

Let’s be honest, rote learning is the dullest of the dull. It doesn't work for many students and they can't participate.
