Headship Index
With the numbers of heads reaching retirement age set to peak over the next three years, new research from the National College for School Leadership (NCSL) reveals that teachers are more ambitious than ever and eager to take on the role. The NCSL's Headship Index shows that nearly a third of teachers have their sights set on becoming a headteacher, and one in twelve expects to get there within the next three years.
