School Funding Reform: Next Steps Towards A Fairer System

Since last spring, and the launch of the first consultation on school funding reform, the government has explored in detail how to create a funding system that is fair, logical and distributes extra funding towards pupils who need it most. This DfE report looks at a proposed a model involving a national funding formula for the distribution of funds to local authorities from which each local authority and Schools Forum would agree a formula to distribute funding locally. This model would be clear and transparent, support the needs of pupils and enable schools to make informed decisions about their provision. Leadership Briefing issue 6.10 (70)
