Inspiring The Next Generation Engineers
This report from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) looks at the overriding parental perceptions which could be a key reason for the lack of women (6%) in the engineering workforce. When asked, only 7% of parents stated that they would encourage their daughter to consider a career in engineering and 41% stated that if asked by their child for advice about a career in Engineering, they feel they wouldn’t know enough to support them.
