The Mathematical Needs of Learners

This report, published by the Advisory Committee on Mathematics Education, analysed the mathematical content of a range of university courses and found that 210,000 students out of the 330,000 that are studying courses requiring mathematical knowledge beyond GCSE do not have these required skills, causing problems for the students and universities alike.
