The Impact of School Leadership on Pupil Outcomes

This three year research project was commissioned by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) in conjunction with the National College of School Leadership (NCSL) to establish how much variation in pupil outcomes (as measured by achievement, engagement, involvement, motivation) is accounted for by variation in the types of school leadership, in ‘leaders of leaders’; and to determine the influences of school leadership on teachers and upon pupils’ outcomes.
