Disability Equality

This report by The Children's Society highlights the need for schools to be more proactive, involved and comprehensive in their promotion of disability equality amongst children. The report found that teachers, by their own admission, lacked time, training, awareness, resources and knowledge of best practice within the teaching of disability equality. A key recommendation of the report was for disability equality to be integrated into areas of the curriculum other than simply Citizenship and PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education).
