Tackling Child Obesity

This is a summary of a 62–page report, prepared jointly by the National Audit Office, the Healthcare Commission and the Audit Commission, considers the effectiveness of government work to tackle child obesity and how it might be improved. The report shows that while a multifaceted approach to child obesity is the most effective, there is little evidence to show whether the range of programmes and initiatives in place to improve children’s health and nutrition is sufficient to achieve the government's target. Update Note: The full report is no longer available.
