Specialist Science Schools

Nearly all of secondary schools in England now specialise in a particular area of the curriculum. However, the success of England's specialist schools is an illusion, according to this report by Professor Alan Smithers and Pamela Robinson of the Centre for Education and Employment Research at the University of Buckingham. The crucial factor is the extra money pumped into specialist schools, as well as their intake of pupils, that had the biggest impact on results. Folder: Leadership Briefings Issue 3.12 (36)
