This DfE report presents an overview of current evidence on pro-social behaviour among young people aged 16-19, drawing together a review of existing literature and analysis of existing secondary data. The main objectives of the research were: to describe overall levels and patterns of engagement in pro-social activity amongst young people, together with differences by socio-demographic characteristics; and to identify underlying motivations for engaging in pro-social activities among young people, as well as potential facilitators and barriers.
