Playing for Success: An Evaluation

This research for the DfES compares the performance in National Curriculum assessments of pupils who went to Playing for Success (PfS) centres with the performance of similar pupils who did not. The PfS initiative involves setting up out of school hours study support centres at football clubs and other sports’ grounds, where sport can be used as a motivational tool to raising literacy, numeracy and ICT standards for Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 pupils who are struggling or de-motivated.
