Review Of Part-Time And Mature Higher Education

Universities UK has published its comprehensive review of part-time and mature higher education. Part-time students are a significant yet often overlooked part of the higher education system, with nearly half a million undergraduates studying part-time in 2011-12, most of them studying vocational subjects and in full-time employment. Yet following a decade of slow decline, the numbers of undergraduates recruited to part-time courses in England fell by 40% over the two years since 2010-11: equivalent to 105,000 fewer students. This report provides an initial assessment of the complex factors behind the fall. Leadership Briefing Issue 8.04(88)
