This rapid review by the NFER for Oxford University Press explored parental engagement in education, with a particular focus on closing gaps in attainment for disadvantaged pupils. The overall message from both reviews is that parental engagement can improve outcomes for children, and that schools and other services can contribute significantly to enabling engagement.
