Sustainable ICT for UK Schools

This new publication by Gary Clawson, chief executive of the North West Learning Grid, reports that the average secondary school can save £35,020 a year, and a primary school £6,300 by implementing a policy of open source software and content. in addition, local authorities could cut their ICT costs by between 25 and 35 per cent. The report recommends targeting three areas: learning platforms and digital resources; desktop software/hardware; and administration systems. Leadership Briefing 5.05 (53)
