National Curriculum Assessments At Key Stage 2 In England

The Department for Education has published Statistical First Release (SFR) data that shows the percentage of pupils achieving below level 3 in Key Stage 2 tests by local authority (LA), government office region (GOR) and gender. The data shows that one in 11 boys in England - one in seven in some areas - starts secondary school with the reading skills of an average seven-year-old. This equates to nearly 19,000 boys.
