Measures To Prevent Racism By Teachers

This government review by Maurice Smith, the former chief inspector of schools, has concluded that teachers in England should not be banned from membership of the British National Party or any group which may promote racism. The review also calls for measures to be strengthened to prevent the promotion of racism by teachers in schools but finds that measures currently in place to protect pupils from racist teachers are sufficient. The Government has accepted in full the independent review's findings. SUMMARY ONLY Leadership Briefing Issue 4.11 (47)
