Independent Review of the Teaching of Early Reading

This is the first report from the Rose Review focusing on identifying the key principles of high quality phonic work. The report examines current practices for teaching children to read to ensure that the National Literacy Strategy is providing the most effective support for children's progression in reading. The final review will provide an input to the renewal of the National Literacy Strategy Framework, and the development of the new Early Years Foundation Stage.
