Promoting the Health of Looked After Children

The government is committed to improving the health of looked after children. The guidance currently in operation, Promoting the Health of Looked After Children, was published by the DH in 2002. The aim of this report is to provide an evidence base to assist the DCSF and DH in revising the guidance on improving the health of looked after children. It also aims to summarise the research and statistical evidence on the prevalence and nature of health problems among looked after children. Leadership Briefings Issue 4.03 (39)
