Will GCSE reforms discriminate against girls?

The biggest shake-up of GCSEs in a generation will see most coursework abandoned in place of more advanced algebra, challenging classics and practical experiments. But will an overhaul of the qualifications, and in particular coursework in favour of a final exam, put girls at a disadvantage?
