The Future Teacher Workforce: Quality And Quantity
This new report by Professor John Howson, commissioned by the Pearson Think Tank, finds imminent risks to the supply of good quality teachers in England. Analysis of UCAS figures reveals that applications to both undergraduate and postgraduate teacher training have significantly declined in 2012. Professor Howson believes that that this drop in applications is a combination of the increase in student fees and higher entry requirements.
