BYOD? What is it and how will it affect my school?

Technology in education has evolved rapidly over the decades, from typewriters in schools to bulky desktop computers to laptops. Now we’re also seeing a rise in requests for pupils’ mobile devices and tablets to be linked to the school’s servers. This tendency of mobile working, known as the bring your own device (BYOD) trend, is not a surprising development and while there are obvious benefits, there needs to be careful consideration as there are security risks associated, particularly in the education sector.
