Schools have a special role to play in reducing emissions, a role that goes beyond their contribution to national emissions. Through the curriculum and through their practices, they can set an example to today’s children and young people, who will be the vanguard of tomorrow’s green economy. This DCSF document seeks to provide a roadmap by which those working and studying within the school sector can begin to radically reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases from schools and school related activity.
