Children’s and young people’s reading habits and preferences

This is a summary of the 111–page review on children’s reading habits which presents the findings from the National Literacy Trust’s survey of over 8,000 primary and secondary pupils across ninety eight schools. Given the current political concerns about reading, the research literature highlights the fact that young people’s reading enjoyment may be declining. Update: The full report is no longer available.
