Asset-Based Welfare and Child Poverty

This research by the Institute for Public Policy Research into asset-based welfare policies in Wales suggests there could be ramifications for the Welsh Assembly Government’s programme for the Child Trust Fund Cymru if there are changes to the national Child Trust Fund (CTF) scheme following the general election. The report looks at the arguments for and against CTFs, and explains why assets are an important way of providing a financial cushion for families in times of hardship.
