With these two subjects constantly in the news at the moment, it’s not surprising that the DfE should be keen to link the two together. We summarise its non-statutory advice clarifying the responsibilities of schools and how to support behaviour related to unmet educational or health needs.
Document Highlights: Schools encouraged to introduce counselling
The Department for Education (DfE) has produced the document, ‘Counselling in schools: a blueprint for the future – Departmental advice for school leaders and counsellors’. Published in March 2015, it aims to help schools improve their counselling service if they already have one or encourages them to introduce one if they haven’t.
