Primary Language Award launched
A new set of awards have been launched to celebrate the work of the teacher, the class and the wider community in the learning of a new language.
The ‘Primary Languages Classroom Awards– building bridges: language in the community’ awards comprise four categories: French, German, Spanish and ‘Other’. A category winner will be chosen from each language from a short list and the overall winner selected from the winners of the four categories will win £1000 worth of resources for their school.
Entrants will be judged on enthusiasm, effectiveness and inclusiveness, together with indications of the positive impact that learning a foreign language has had on the whole school community.
Teachers, children, extended schools and other community groups are all eligible to enter. Closing date is Friday 15th May 2009 and application forms can be obtained by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org with‘ Entry Form’ in the subject bar.
